Jane Yellowrock is a vampire killer for hire - but other creatures of the night still need to watch their backs....

When the Master of the city of New Orleans asks Jane to improve security for a future visit from a delegation of European vampires, she names an exorbitant price - and Leo is willing to pay. That’s because the European vamps want Leo’s territory, and he knows that he needs Jane to prevent a total bloodbath. Leo, however, doesn’t mention how this new job will change Jane’s life or the danger it will bring her and her team.

Jane has more to worry about than some greedy vampires. There’s a vicious creature stalking the streets of New Orleans, and its agenda seems to be ripping Leo and her to pieces. Now Jane just has to figure out how to kill something she can’t even see.…

I am not sure if I was not paying attention close enough or what. Spoilers ahead. However, I was confused with the whole time travel thing the dragon did during the battle. I really should have gone back and re-listened to it, but I didn't.

The whole time thing that the dragon and beast can do is just confusing. It's a little better explained with Beast and Jane, but how beast got this power, not so much. She got it from an angel. Why, no idea, just that any time it gets used, Jane pays a heavy toll. Sigh, I was in love with this series so much; I hope it doesn't start going downhill with unexplained weirdness that makes zero sense in an entirely fictional world that revolves around a Skin Walker and Vampires because that would be a shame.

I am giving Broken Soul 4 Boundless stars, I still really enjoyed it, but I was confused with what happened and the hows and whys.

On a side note, my husband noted that Hunter's weapons terminology is spot on, which is extremely high praise coming from him.
