Under the rule of science, there are no witch burnings allowed, no water trials or public lynchings. In return, the average law-abiding, solid citizen has little to worry about from the things that go bump in the night. Sometimes I wish I was an average citizen...
Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary-and neither is the demon inside of him. FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS
The series takes on a whole new feel when you can read/listen to the books back to back and also have the foreknowledge of what is going to happen in the future. Since I am in such a place going back and re-reading/listening to the series from the beginning, it is shedding new light on characters behaviors and also a fun refresher. It had been so long since I read this book initially Ill be honest I didn't remember it at all. Nine years to be exact. I loved rediscovering Mercy's beginnings again. This story is pivotal, they all are, and they all tie together. This isn't a series to start in the middle. It's best to start in the beginning. Like all of the others, Blood Bound is exciting, thrilling, and action-packed and the perfect Mercy book, I loved it once again. 5 Boundless Stars
