Mercedes Thompson, aka Mercy, is a talented Volkswagen mechanic living in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. She also happens to be a walker, a magical being with the power to shift into a coyote at will. Mercy's next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she's fixing a bus for a vampire. This is the world of Mercy Thompson, one that looks a lot like ours but is populated by those things that go bump in the night. And Mercy's connection to those things is about to get her into some serious hot water.. FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS I originally read this book back in 2010, and even though I have either read or listened to all of the Mercy Thompson books that have been released, I didn't remember the plot at all. Discovering the timeline on Briggs's website for the "Mercyvesre" http://www.patriciabriggs.com/books/timeline.shtml I wanted to listen to the series in order. Yep, I am a dork like that.
Moon called is a remarkable book. If you start the series here, you would be fine. The prequels are more for fans of the series, in my opinion. And the Graphic Novel has inconsistencies with the larger story. So for those who haven't read any Mercy Thompson books here is an excellent place to start. For uber-fans like me who want to tackle the "Mercyverse" start at the prequels.
It's a lot of fun going back and seeing Mercy and Adam from the beginning knowing where they will end up. She is clueless. But I loved getting to go back. This series is too good not to savor a second time around, this time in audiobook.
Like the first time, the second round is getting 5 Boundless Stars.
