Head of the class...
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out.
The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy—he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle.
Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.
And knocks him right on his tight end zone.
Back to school...
Callie has a pretty sweet life herself...on the other side of the country. But circumstances—that she'd prefer to never speak of again—have brought her back home, helping out her parents and substitute teaching at her old high school.
Now she's facing bickering, raging hormones, constant gossip, awkward weirdness, and drama galore...and that's just the teachers.
Just like old times...
When Garrett offers to show his former high school sweetheart the secrets of his winning teacher ways, Callie jumps at the chance—and then has to stop herself from jumping him.
Good friends are all they can ever be.
Or...these teachers just might end up getting schooled—hard—by love. FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS
I love Emma Chase and have pretty much adored every book of hers I have read. But I will be honest I judged a book by its cover. I saw the cover and the title and thought this book was a Hot for teacher book. You know a book where the teacher gets involved with a student, (I was thinking college) but still gah no. I guess I should have read the blurb sooner LOL. Yep, I can be a dork. No this isn’t hot for teacher book this is a second chance romance and one that I absolutely loved. It revolves around a high school history teacher/football coach. Chase was able to capture all those feeling of high school and first love and wrap it up in a big ball of nostalgia. I was reminiscing big time reading this one. Ah first love. Callie comes back home from across the country to take care of her parents when they are in a rather compromising accident. I won't spoil it for you, but it is hilarious. She needs to stay and help take care of them for almost a year. (I don’t know what kind of family leave her job has but dang luck!) She gets a job subbing at the school, and that’s where she and Garrett reconnect. I love, love, love second chance romances especially when there are high school sweethearts. The nostalgia that it brings back is bittersweet without the awkward pain of being a teen again. Because really who would do that?
