Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas. The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional. Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect. What she didn’t count on was falling in love with the guy. FOUR BOUNDLESS STARS
I read these out of order, even though they are standalone Ruby is the sister to Jasmine From Lukov With Love. You don’t even realize how nuts that makes me. LOL, but you don’t need to read these in any order its just a little FYI. So I personally would recommend reading this book instead of listening to it for one main reason. The first almost had Ruby and Aaron corresponding via email. Now I loved that Zapata took full advantage of the duet narration in this part. However, reading the TO: so and so From: so and so Subject: Blah over and over again OMG. I was insane and just over it. Had I been reading I would have skimmed/skipped all of that and not subjugated myself to it. Another thing that just annoyed that crap out of me was the book was running as a fantastic duet unit the characters started talking on the phone then it switched to Dalton’s narration. WHY? I love a wonderful duet. I just felt cheated. It's not the audiobook was bad, but I was given a duet more than ½ though and then it was taken away. BS I tell you. The story is great, it’s Zapata so there isn’t any other way it would be. Of course, it is a slow burn. If you are familiar with her work you know to expect that. I liked seeing how Ruby met and fell in love with her soldier. It is a wonderful story. I just got annoyed with the audiobook version. But I am still rating it 4 Boundless Stars.
