EVERYTHING CHANGED IN AN INSTANT.
I thought I knew what was important, but one phone call sent my life into a tailspin. Alone and afraid, I clung to the one man I shouldn’t. I was warned about him and told to stay away. “He’s dangerous,” they said. But the man who could hurt me the most, gave me the greatest comfort. "He's not who they think," I told myself. But just like an illusion, things are never what they seem. FOUR BOUNDLESS STARS
………WARNING SPOILER……..
I don’t know many people nowadays who haven’t been affected by cancer some way, I know I have many times over. When I realized what the life-changing event is in this book was. I honestly stopped listening for a while. Enshrine depicts the personal struggle of a woman finding out she has cancer and learning how to deal with it. She struggles with her changed life, finding the will to go on and a new love. It’s a great story. But the cancer treatments and going through that hit very close to home. Not me personally but I have been there with my mother before she lost her battle with lung cancer. I don’t think I could have read this book, listening puts a bit of distance to the feelings, and I was easily able to pause and walk away, I often did. The realism is there, and it might be incredibly difficult for many to read. So be prepared. Overall this is an excellent book of strength, survival, and love. The narration was fantastic, and I am giving it 4 Boundless stars.
