One career-ending mistake sends Lance Mullen home to Cliffside Bay in search of a fresh start. And in no time at all, home begins to feel like the place he was always meant to be. With his beautiful new beach house, his friends and family close by, and a profitable business to grow, life really is good. That is until his heart tries to wreck everything... again.

After losing her mother, child and marriage, Mary Hansen has built a nearly impenetrable wall around her heart. She's convinced her dream job, a few growing friendships, and a never-ending stream of books to fill her evenings are enough for a contented if not all together joyous life. Though she's on guard not to get too close to anyone, one careless moment with Lance will shatter her prospects for an uncomplicated future.

The fifth installment of The Cliffside Bay Series by bestselling author Tess Thompson follows the interwoven stories of five best friends, the beach community they love, and the women who captivate them. Prepare to get lost in a wave of small town charm, men you would love to take home to your mother, and smart, resilient heroines you wished lived next door. FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS

I voluntarily accepted this book in return for an honest review. Lance is upset. All the other Dogs are now married, happy, and starting families, and he is alone and hopelessly in love with a woman that's not available. He should know the problems with that; it had happened before and the reason he came home in the first place. But Mary, damaged, sweet Mary is what he wants. Mary is new to Cliffside Bay, following her father there. She is damaged beyond repair, being cheated on and losing a child will do that to you. Now she has books to hide her grief. Will, one night between them, change them both, and give them a future, or will they stay apart? Let me start by saying I gave this a 5, but it is more of a 10 or even 20. I have fallen in love with his series. Up to this point, we haven't seen much of Lance and Mary. But this book brings them both to light. This book was crazy on my emotions. At times, I found myself mad, at others I was crying ugly tears, and at others, I was deliriously happy. This book was, in my opinion, the best of the series. From the love and drama between Lance and Mary to all the drama and issues that surfaced during this book (sorry, no spoilers from me), I was hooked. I loved it. I just happened across Tess on Facebook, and now she is definitely on my favorite author list. Her writing is amazing. This is the first series I have had the pleasure to read, but I want to read all her works. This story, this series in general, has been one of the best things I have ever read. I'm a reviewer, so I have read many books, so coming from me, this was amazing.
