They can't break me.
I wasn't prepared for what came after I got arrested and sent to prison. Finding my sister in that hellhole should've been easy.
I wasn't prepared to survive an alien planet straight out of a prehistoric nightmare. Facing my fears to withstand the creatures that wanted to eat me, and the four alien men that watched me like a morsel they wanted to sink their teeth into...
I wasn't prepared for any of it.
But I sure as hell wouldn't let it break me. FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS
Tempest ties in with book one in the series, so you almost have to read both. I would recommend in order. Charlie gets herself sent to the prison ship to rescue her sister who is featured in book 1. Once the vessel crashes they get separated, and Charlie gets kidnapped to an underwater realm. Where she is kept by four male aliens, who are uber hot. Until she can understand them she nicks names them, Brick, (built like a brick sh*t house), Trouble (he looks like trouble), Kid (Kidnapper) and Stick (aliens sex on a stick). I didn’t even have to look that up, I just remembered it. HA! Poppy asked at the end of the book which was our favorite male character. I honestly don’t know. Kid or Dason is a klepto who likes to borrow things and is continuously getting into trouble. “I realized I had a problem. I liked to take things. Well, borrow. I liked to borrow. I borrow a lot.” “It’s only borrowing if you ask first.” Silence. He scowled. “I’m unconvinced.” Then there was Trouble or Kahn, who was slightly antagonistic towards Charlie, yet playful and well trouble in the best way. Lonan or Stick who seems to be the leader of the group, who is also a clean freak and germaphobe. Lastly Zaid or Brick, who is twice as big as Chalie but incredibly sweet and kind to her. He is also the one who seems the most vulnerable. So how do you choose out of those four? I know I cant. All I know is the sex scenes in this story are OMG explosive. Poppy has once again outdone herself with characters who are vivid and real, and her world building is phenomenal. I am giving Tempest 5 Boundless Stars.
