Celina escapes from a break in where her husband is killed, and she is shot. Near death and full of anger she is visited by none other than a demon. Mekaisto promises her revenge and all she has to do is give him her soul and life. Once the deal is done, she begins investigating her husband and finds a trail of lies and secrets. On top of the horrible truth that is revealing itself about her husband, she also seems to find herself drawn to the demon that has her soul. I'm not big on books like this, but I have to say I enjoyed it. From the beginning, this book is a roller coaster full of action and danger. Secrets and lies are revealed leading the reader on a journey like no other. I liked the characters. Mekaisto at first was a jerk in my opinion, but he soon won me over. As the truth comes out about Celina's husband, my opinion of him dropped significantly, but I guess with a story like this that is bound to happen. When the truth comes out, it is a significant shock. Celina was just awesome, beginning to end. The characters were colorful and passionate while the storyline was dark and mysterious. In my opinion, that's a great combination. Honestly, I was surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did since it's not my usual type of read, but it was well written and kept me deeply enthralled. Even though I enjoyed this story, I have to say that I think I will stick to my usual reads. Demon romance is a bit too much for me.
