Calvin Greenwood is a family man in his eighties. He is alone for the first time in over sixty years: his wife, Emily, just passed away and he isn't taking her loss well. He doesn't remember how to be alone, and he isn't sure if he can forgive himself for the mistakes he made while she was alive.
Edward White is a long time family friend who knows something is wrong with Calvin. He comes to check on him during his time of need and make sure he isn't planning to do anything reckless. Edward understands just how dangerous things are for someone struggling the way Calvin is, and he hopes talking to him can settle things back down. He just hopes he isn't too late to help.
Help, however, isn't the easiest thing to give, and it can be even more difficult to accept...Love, loss, and forgiveness weave through this human tale of friendship and hope. FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS
Calvin is alone for the first time in a long time. He is trying to deal with the passing of his wife. He is struggling with this greatly when his friend Edward comes to his aid. Edward hopes that talking to him will let him know that he will be fine. He knows Calvin is hurting and he hopes to help him before time runs out. I could tell from the beginning that this was going to be a heart-wrenching tale of loss. It was that, but it was also a story full of hope and friendship. Losing someone so close to you is hard, and Calvin is faced with such a difficult time. It had me by the heartstrings. This book had the memories of a life past. The pain, mistakes, and the hope for a better future make this book a hard to put down read. By the ending, I was in tears. This was truly a sad and yet touching book. I enjoyed it.
