5 Questions with: Jennifer Estep

1. If you were an elemental. Which element would you want to have and why?
JE: I think that it would be really cool (pun intended) to be an Ice elemental. Fall/winter is my favorite time of year, and I think that Ice would be a fun power to play around with during those seasons.
2. Do the characters in your stories represent anyone in your life? or any event?
JE: No, my characters do not represent anyone, and my stories do not represent any event in my life. My life is not nearly as exciting as Gin’s is, but I think that that’s a good thing. I would not want to battle all the bad guys that she does. LOL.
3. Sophia is one of my favorite characters. She has been through a lot of trauma. I was wondering if there is a love in her future?
JE: Thanks! I appreciate that. As of right now, I don’t have any plans to introduce a love interest for Sophia, but I’ll never say never. I am hoping to maybe write a novella from Sophia’s point of view (as well as some from the other secondary characters’ points of view) sometime in the future. We’ll see what happens.

4. What is a book, that has stuck with you through the years, that you believe everyone should read?
JE: One of my favorite books is Beauty by Robin McKinley. It’s a lovely retelling of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. I also really like Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas, which is about a girl growing up in Texas.
5. Do you have a favorite scary movie?
JE: I don’t like scary movies, so I don’t have a favorite one. I prefer to watch superhero movies, romantic comedies, and action movies. Some of my favorite movies are the James Bond series, the Captain America series, the cartoon version of Beauty and the Beast, and The Princess Bride, among many, many others.
Happy reading, everyone! J
