FOUR BOUNDLESS STARS
Lola gave me so much anxiety! OMG! Her mind was all over the place, her decisions with Oliver, her thinking. The book said how smart she was, however, she comes across as an artistic basket case, who can’t juggle her professional and personal life at the same time. I really wanted to reach in and slap her. Her inability to open up and express her fears and true feeling cripples her. I guess since this is so opposite me when I read/listen to it, it seriously makes my skin just crawl. But in a good way, LOL. Any time a book can generate such a visceral response from me is worth note, even if it is just me wanting to reach in and strangle the main character. WITH. MY. BARE. HANDS.
The loves scenes are scorchers and the chemistry between Lola and Oliver is off the charts, good. That’s why Lola’s choices made me so nuts! The overall story was awesome and I loved listening to it, even though I had to stop and walk away a few times. I just wish they made a better use of both narrators. I love it when the male narrator reads all the male roles and the female reads the female roles. It just seems like such a waste to have them read the POV chapters only. Although both narrators were equally excellent.
Dark Wild Night, was a great installment in the Wild Seasons series and I am giving it 4 Boundless Stars, I really enjoyed listening to it. Regardless of my feelings on Lola.
