SYNOPSIS

Paradise, blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself…be herself. It’s a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life. And that’s before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated—and left wondering whether she’s strong enough to claim her own power…on the field, and off.

FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS

The thing I loved about this book even more than the story of Paradise and Craeg, which was awesome; was the continuing story we got of Butch and Marissa. I mean their story was told way back in book 4, Lover Revealed! Book 4, I tell you! Now we are on to book 15 with the upcoming release this year of The Chosen. For those of you who haven’t read J.R. Ward’s fabulous Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and started with this book, stop now, go back and start from the beginning at Dark Lover. I truly believe you must read the first series to appreciate and understand the second.

In Paradise’s world of being an aristocrat, it is unheard of her joining the Black Dagger Brotherhood training program. It just isn’t done. However, she breaks society norms and does it anyway. She wants to learn to defend herself and be free of the constraints of her class and position. What she didn’t plan on was finding a male she wants as her own. I loved that they gave her a chance and didn’t let her being a high breed female stand in her way.

Craeg, has lost everyone he has loved and is out for revenge. Revenge against the Lessers and revenge against the aristocrats that he blames for his family’s death. He joins the program to find that revenge. What he didn’t plan on was finding Paradise.

This was the first book of Ward’s that I listened to instead of reading and I loved the narration. The sample didn’t do the book justice. I think I will be buying audiobooks from now on. I loved, it and I can’t wait for more.
