A New Kind of War :: A New Kind of Service
During a brutal war against monstrous, spider-like aliens, the Space Marines try to improve morale with a top-secret, gene-splicing drug that temporarily turns men into women. Marines who take the drug have sex with the Marines who don't. Everyone is happier.
Most troopers just blow off steam, but two Marines connect in a way that will change them forever. A young Private gets in touch with his feminine side and finds the joy in submitting to a man. A battle-hardened Lieutenant finds redemption and learns that sexual attraction and respect can go hand-in-hand. How far will this relationship go?
WARNING! This book contains explicit sex, graphic violence, and salty language. It is for mature, adult readers only. [75,000 words]
FIVE BOUNDLESS STARS
I really wasn’t sure of this book to start because it honestly seemed like a retelling of Starship Troopers, which by the way I love, and just recently watched again. Once it got going and the “Pink Vector” was introduced the story really took a life of its own.
The main character, Quantrill, Q for short, is one that will quickly find a place in your heart with his/her strength, courage, and heart. He/she is the heart and soul of his platoon and it was surreal to experience the emotions of what he went through when he was turned from an awkward looking man to a drop dead gorgeous woman.
“Did it make sense to be jealous of himself?”
He finds himself being paired with his LT. who he has admired and honestly had a bit of a man crush on even if he didn’t realize it. Q’s feelings become confused as all the female hormones play with him and lines get blurred for both him and his LT as they pair up more and more.
Swapship Troopers really surprised me, it has a solid science fiction military story going on with an awesome love story that would classify as transgender. However, I just saw it as beautiful. I don’t think it should matter what gender people are if you love each other nothing and no one should hold you back.
I am giving Swapship Troopers Five Boundless Stars, I loved it and I was really impressed with Longs writing and the imagination that went into the telling of this story.
