SYNOPSIS

Everyone considered Evan a bit of a wild card. Even Megan. Little did she know he was carrying the torch for her and all the rest was camouflage. When she transfers to the West Coast to join the new helicopter division, their lives collide once again. Another SEAL unit is under attack and needs their help, but when the attackers turn on Megan, she’s the one in danger. With the enemy closer than they’d like to believe, Megan and Evan struggle to piece together what happened to their friends. They need to figure it out fast before there are more victims. Starting with them.

3.5 (FOUR) BOUNDLESS STARS

A voluntarily received a copy of Seals of Honor: Evan for an honest review.

The first thing I asked since it is book 8 in a series, is does it read as a stand alone? to which I was told yes. I will agree that the overall book does read as a standalone. However, there are a lot of characters that appear, that obviously had previous books. So that drove my OCD butt a little wonky, not knowing their back stories.

This story revolves around Evan, a seal (of course) and Megan a helicopter pilot. I really liked that Megan. She wasn’t your ordinary damsel in distress. She was very resourceful and able to take care of herself and even sometimes Evan. I can always appreciate when an author writes a strong woman. There was a lot of action once the story got rolling and it really didn’t stop. I just never really understood why they were after Megan, it didn’t make sense to me. The explanation didn’t fit “real life”. I know, I know. This isn’t real life. However, I have the type of mind that picks apart stories so if I can’t get them to be someone logical in the scope of the story I have issues accepting it.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story and I will be going back and reading the series from the start. I really want to know what is going on with Ice.
