I was a rock star in one of the most successful bands in the Miami area. I had money, fame and millions of female fans… and then my world came crashing down. I couldn’t believe it! I had to go to rehab “for my own safety.” Pffft! Whatever. I’ll spend a few weeks doing some BS art projects and waste some time listening to a bunch of idiot addicts whine about how their parents never loved them. Just my luck, while I was just chillin’, waiting for my dealer to find someone else to blame for his stolen stash, I met my hottest dream in the form of a counselor who wouldn’t just let me slide. Just when I thought I couldn’t be in a worse situation, one little mistake—a little fun in the art room with this counselor, the hottest girl I’ve ever laid eyes on—and we were both thrown out. To make things worse, the girl that I thought was my “hottest dream” became my angel. And I’m not about to let anyone—not even Big J and not even my own stupid messed-up self—ruin the little taste of heaven she gives me. ***This is the first book of the Hard Rock Star Series. Each book within this series is a standalone and may be read in any order.*** Book 1: North Book 2: Nick Book 3: Julian Book 4: Dan Book 5: Mark (Coming Fall 2016!) This book is intended for readers age 18 and over. It contains mature situations and language that may be objectionable to some readers. Please note: North is a 25,000 word novella. The Kindle edition features a bonus multi-genre collection of sizzling romance stories for your reading pleasure.
Four Boundless Stars
North is the epitome of clichés; a hard rock band member goes to rehab to hide from his revenge seeking dealer, who is convinced Alex North stole from him. While there he sleeps with his counselor, resulting in both of them being kicked out. With nowhere else to hide, he stays with her and falls in love. What a surprise!
What makes this book better than other cliché stories? What happens after! I expected the first part and saw what was coming from a mile away, but then, BAM surprises and twists kept coming. I can’t say much more without spoiling the book for you. I can tell you this much; A completely and totally great read! Not only will Alex’s actions surprise you, but Mary (the counselor) with make your jaw drop.
I listened to the audio version of this book, and would recommend this to all readers. I’m not a fan of all the detailed intimacy but still loved it. I will warn readers; this is not a book to listen to in a car with kids; the audio version is definitely rated R. The narrator did a great job too.
Overall; a quick and smooth story, great writing with excellent character development, 4 Boundless stars for North. I’ve already started Nick, book 2 of the series, and look forward to hearing his story.
