Synopsis
"Welcome to Conti's. I'm Lia and I'll nguhhhhhhhhhhhhh". I froze. Directly facing me was Olympic swimmer, Jay Morningstar… and I just made an idiot of myself. The rest of the table looked up to see me standing there with my mouth practically gaping. His coach, who I recognized from TV interviews, and even two other swimmers from the Olympic team... they didn't say anything, they didn't even blink. "Uh… I mean…" I couldn't even put together my words and Jay Morningstar was just staring at me with that Wheaties box smile and those icy blue eyes. What was I supposed to say? Sorry I just made a weird noise, it's just that I have a poster of you on my wall where you are wearing nothing more than your gold medals, a smile, and a pair of man panties?
Five (Huge) Boundless Stars
Edge of Glory, is one of the quirkiest, funniest, and heartwarming books I’ve read. I loved it! I loved Lia. She was hilarious and her whole crazy Italian family.
Lia is a waitress at her families restaurant. She’s always been over protected. Never really had a boyfriend and the mean girls call her a lesbian. Yeah, that is until Mr. Jay Morningstar walks in the building. The Olympian that Lia has slightly been obsessing over for awhile.
Their falling in love together is so endearing. You see her go through all the issues anyone faces. Am I good enough for him? Is he just going to leave me? I mean they had some awkward moments together. But all in all Jay really won me over. He was sincere, even when the media twisted the story. Or his crazy ex-girlfriend following him around.
I loved Lia’s growth through out this story. She really went from a girl who thought she was not much, to one that knew what she had. She knew that she was always going to be beautiful in Jay’s eyes.
I loved that he was a swimmer. I haven’t read very many books with swimmers. But it is one of my favorite things to watch during the summer Olympics.
This is the very first book I’ve read of Magan’s. So I looked her up to see what else she has out. And she has like a million books that will be going up on my TBR list. What I love most as a reviewer, is finding these seriously amazing stories and these writers that I’ve never heard of.
Overall, I give this book Five HUGE Boundless Stars. It’s going up on my top reads of 2016.
