Blurb

Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I’m one of them. Yay, me. In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie’s a jerk, because it also thinks I’m the mate to the biggest, surliest alien of the group. BARBARIAN ALIEN is a sequel to ICE PLANET BARBARIANS. You do not have to read both in order to understand the plot, but the story will be richer if you do!

Four (3.5) Boundless Stars

This is Liz and Raahoosh’s story; Liz is a super sarcastic, wise cracking bitch, with a rough edge, yet she is tough, and exactly the type of woman the Hunter Raahoosh needs. He is scared, distant, and taciturn; scowls a lot, but his symbiont has decided Liz is his mate, so he will protect Liz, even if it’s from herself.

“…I have the alien version of Grumpy Cat, and he just roped and tied me like a calf at a rodeo”

I enjoyed watching their relationship progress; from Liz being hostile to her falling for him, Raahoosh had no choice. Do to his beliefs and the lack of women, once his symbiont decided that Liz was his mate, there was no second guessing the decision. She was his. Liz wasn’t convinced and fought the mating urge.

I really enjoyed this story; It was fun, and I’m glad I went back to this world Ruby Dixon created. I will be reading the next one soon.
