Blurb

He was my boss, my brother’s friend, a Widower, an ex-felon, and a man I’d seen casually with a handful of women. But he was everything that gripped me, both the good and the bad. Worst case scenario if things turned awkward between us, I could go somewhere else. I’d gotten over epic heartbreak before, one more wouldn’t kill me. After moving to Austin following six months of unemployment back home, Iris Taylor knows she should be glad to have landed a job so quickly... even if the business is owned by a member of the same motorcycle club her estranged father used to belong to. Except Dex Locke might just be the biggest jerk she’s ever met. He’s rude, impatient and doesn’t know how to tell time. And the last thing they ever expected was each other. But it was either the strip club or the tattoo shop. … she should have chosen the strip club.

Five (Huge) Boundess Stars

When the story starts off by wishing a venereal disease on the hero because he is such a bastard, but doing it in such a funny way, that is my kind of story!

“….I only Kind-of sort-of hoped he came down with an infectious illness in his private parts. But you know, something he could get medicine for.”

I was dying laughing! DYING! I loved Iris; she was awesome, a bit on the meek side but I Loved how she had a running commentary in her head and started referring to Dex as The DICK. I mean seriously, she was hilarious, here is a very innocent young woman thrown in with rough and tumble bickers, and tattoo artist, and she is just doing her thing. She was so incredibly likeable and cute. She cried a bit too easy, and I wish she would have nut punched Dex more than once, but I still LOVED her.

Dex on the other hand is well, a DICK! After a while he becomes a more loveable dick but yes, still a dick, a very good looking one but the name is very apropos. I loved listening to how his and Iris relationship developed over time; this wasn’t a quick romance by any means, it was a slow burn, and I LOVED it! When it did finally happen, Oh good lord! Let me wipe my drool! Dex could melt anybody’s heart!

“You’ve gotta be the best thing I never knew I wanted.”

I mean come on! Is that not like the best line, EVER!

Under Locke was such an incredibly funny, heartwarming, and utterly perfect contemporary romance, I will be listening to it again and again! It’s getting 5 Huge Boundless Stars!
