Definitions of Destiny: 1: the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future. 2: the hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future; fate. But what is destiny, really? Fate. Karma. Divine decree or intervention. Or even predestination. Who knows? Well, Yzavela is unable to control her own destiny, which takes her from the Great City, where things have been thrown into madness and chaos by a takeover in Parliament. She encounters three strangers along the way, all mysterious in their own right but yet are all connected to getting Yzavela to her fated destination. She comes to realize that supernatural, paranormal and even mythical creatures truly do exist when she arrives in Ravenstone. A place where she's now safe with her mother and pets, but soon discovers that everything that happened along the way, was all destined. She's put through tests to see if she's truly worthy of the chosen path, which of course she didn't chose or plan for herself, but was given to her by something that's very powerful and ancient in its own decree. Will Yzavela pass the tests, learn who to trust, and accept her destiny?

Three Boundless Stars

Readers start in 2025, as DD and Yzavela escape the destruction of The Great City, formally London, in hopes of finding a new home. Our travels begin with a mother, DD, and daughter, Yzavela, as they go as far as the train will take them to find a place to fit in, and live with their secret of magic. During the ride, they are pleased to meet a fortune teller, who luckily, offers them the name and number of a man to help them find lodging.

The story of Secrets of Ravenstone is a unique story. I would describe it as a combination of Harry Potter and Twilight. The characters are unique and well developed; I loved all the characters. I thought it was a quick read; unfortunately, it was not a smooth read. There were several errors throughout the book, severely interfering with its readability. Also, there was a lot of description in the book without providing readers with imagery. Yes, there is difference, a big one.

Overall, I loved the story Yza-Dora created, it was unique with awesome characters. Unfortunately; due to the lack of imagery and errors in the story, it could have been better. Secrets of Ravenstone is a strong 3 Boundless stars.
