The last thing Kaylee wants to do is participate in a childish scavenger hunt--especially inside the abandoned retirement home on the edge of town. When she finds a bruised, deaf boy hiding inside one of the rooms, she vows to lead him to safety . . . only to discover the front doors are now padlocked, and her friends are nowhere to be found. Kaylee is about to learn that not everything that goes 'bump in the night' is imaginary, and sometimes there are worse things to fear than ghosts.
Four Boundless Stars
Kaylee is invited to a party she's not too thrilled about. Then she is dragged to a scavenger hunt in an abandoned retirement home. The night gets worse when her and her friends are locked inside. This book was good and kept me reading, but the formatting made it hard to stop or take a break. It had no page breaks and wasn't split into chapters. I did enjoy it though. It was filled with action and gave a definite chill down the spine. The boy she finds brings a sense of fright and hope and Kaylee does everything in her power to help him. The book did end with what I see as a cliffhanger so I don't know if there will be another book or if the ending was just left up to the imagination of the reader. Either way it was good.
