Blurb
Out of necessity Shelby Matthews, a beautiful, blonde mother of three grown children becomes an eighteen-wheel truck driver, finding out that leering eyes and cat-calls from the men aren’t as dangerous as the vindictive and territorial behavior of a female co-worker, Betty Burton. On her first hauling job Shelby has an unexpected encounter, and finds herself the target of unwarranted revenge. As the threats quickly escalate into sabotage on her marriage and attempts on her life, including impending death from the cliffs of some of Utah’s highest mountains, the dangers of being a woman on the road emerge, will Shelby prove to be a true-blue, red-blooded American, Mother Trucker?
Two Boundless Stars
When this came our way, I wanted to give it a chance. Shelby is working two jobs. After her husband has a heart attack. Their financial situation is not good, even with her working two jobs. After a chance meeting with a friend. She decides to try out the trucking business.
This story involved a lot of danger. So it was pretty much non stop but I really didn't understand why Betty, didn't like Shelby. Why would you have such a hatred for someone, to want to basically kill them. I did like the family type feel of the other truckers. They had Shelby's back when it really counted.
The writing was third person and it was hard for me to get really into it. It was interesting to learn about what it's like to drive the trucks. But it was a bit dry. I never connected to any of the characters, I did try.
As a reviewer it's hard for me to give a lower star review. But I have to be honest. It's just ok and I'm sure a lot of readers will love it. But it just wasn't for me.
