*"FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS" CONTEMPORARY ADULT ROMANCE

It all started with a pinky swear… Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome; a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He’s also one of Stephanie Robson’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she’s known him. Beautiful, funny and an ambitious businesswoman (with one hell of an ass), Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he’s known her.

But some relationships can’t be boxed, can’t be classified, can’t be tamed. Back in their mid-twenties and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them were in a serious relationship by the time they hit thirty. It sounded like fun and games at the time but as the years to thirty tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life. Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line. The pact is about to change everything.

Note: due to the dirty talk and sexy times, The Pact is not meant for anyone under the age of 18. All characters in THE PACT are in their thirties, therefore this is NOT a new adult book...even though love can mess you up at any age. Five Boundless Stars

Halle writes a story, spanning over years. Two souls who in every way we're destined to be together. To love, to loss, to friendship.. It all comes full circle.

Love stories aren't always easy. This is not a cookie cutter buttered up love story. It's more than love, one I can't even find the right word for. Stephanie, his baby blue and Linden, her cowboy. Through out this story, they've tried to stay away but it's like anything. You can't stay away forever, one day something happens. And the explosion occurs and all that's left is the bareness of reality.

In the beginning Linden light heartedly makes a pact with Stephanie. Because he is who he is, is it for real? But as the years go on its more apparent that the pact they made, is just something so very real.

"What if you lose me?"

"Then I'll just hold on tighter."

Stephanie was actually pretty awesome. Not that I've been in her shoes but she still keeps going. She still has ambitions. She's strong even at her weakest. Linden, is a man whose never really known what love was. But he finds it and it's really hard to let that go. I think it would be hard for anyone to realize their mistakes but still fight for what is really theirs. When it always was.

This is the first book I've read of hers and I'm sure I'll eventually be reading more. When you have a great cover, a great story, it's hard not love something written so well. The hours that it took to read, we're not a waste.

If you love a book with heart. Then The Pact is one you'll not regret. Maybe I'm just a sucker for great love stories.
