Reviewer Purchase Publisher: Self-Published Released: April 16th 2013 Narrators: Mackenzie Cartwright & Jeremy Wright Genre: Erotica, Paranormal Length: 365 Pages Format: eBook, Audio Author Links Facebook | Twitter | Website Buy Links Amazon Synopsis Taylor is a vampire but she doesn't want to be. Turned against her will by her sadistic mistress, Celeste, she has been living a miserable life of bondage and abuse for the past six years. Finally, through the help of her best friend Addison, Taylor is rescued but she can’t relax for long. In order to save her from an even worse fate, she is married off to Victor a very reluctant groom who just happens to be a werewolf. Victor doesn't want to be responsible for the fledgling vampire, no matter how beautiful she is. Especially when he finds out she is the only one he can drink from. But aside from the strange arousal that overtakes him every time she sinks her dainty fangs into his throat, he has other problems to deal with…and a very big secret to hide. Their marriage of convenience is only supposed to last for three months but Victor and Taylor finds themselves drawn together by more than the vows they took. But as their attraction grows, so does something else. Inside Taylor, something is changing. She begins to have physical cravings she has never had before, insatiable appetites that only Victor can satisfy. Will she succumb to the madness growing within her or can Victor save her from the Scarlet Heat? Five Boundless Stars I purchased Scarlet Heat as an Audiobook and I honestly have to say Mackenzie Cartwright and Jeremy York did a suburb job bring this titillating story to life. We met Taylor back in book one of the Born to Darkness series, Crimson Debt. She had been horribly abused by her Mistress and in order to free her she is arranged (forced) to Blood Bond with a Werewolf Victor for 3 months. I was really looking forward to reading Taylor and Victor’s book right from their introduction in Crimson Debt and I am so glad I finally got my hands on it. As you can imagine two people (whatever) living in that close proximity to each other for any amount of time can cause feelings to change. It also doesn’t hurt that Victor is the only one who can feed Taylor. With his blood comes some unexpected results due to him hiding a very scary secret. The scenes between Victor and Taylor were scorching hot, but also super sweet. I loved how he was with her. Victor was a huge surprise for me. But I guess he shouldn’t have been. He was incredibly loving and sweet yet 100% Alpha, just the way Evangeline always writes her men. Scarlet Heat totally hits the spot for this Vampire/Werewolf romance and I absolutely can’t wait to read the next installment in the series, Ruby Shadows
