Blog Tour & Review: The Reaper's Kiss (Deathmark #1) by Abigail Baker
The Reaper’s Kiss A Deathmark Novel
Release Date: August 24, 2015
Ollie Dormier's tattoos are deadly. She is a Scrivener—an employee for Death—and her skull tattoos mark her clients for their demise. She does her job, and she stays out of trouble. But when her hands start to burn hot and fierce, and her control goes leaping out the window, all hell breaks loose. Ollie is showing the early signs of being a Master...demonstrating power that is forbidden.
That power is exactly what Reaper Brent Hume is counting on. A hot, scruffy rebel, who does marvelous and terrifying things to Ollie''s insides. Now he needs Ollie's help—and her skills—to overthrow the evil and corrupt Head Reaper. That is, if he can figure out a way to keep this hot-handed girl cool...and keep his hands off.
Lissa's Review - Five (4.5) Boundless Stars
I loved the cover of this book and I was instantly drawn to it. I've been a fan of Reapers, I loved Dead Like Me. One of my favorite shows ever! So naturally when I found out what this book was about, I had to read it.
We have Olivia aka Ollie who is a scrivener. She tattoos skulls on people's bodies, when they come into the shop. Which means those people will die very soon. Ollie has a power she doesn't understand and one that could get her killed.
She meets Brent, he wants her to help him, to rebel against Marin and bring back order to Styx.
This was written so well, I really loved this world. Ollie is such a strong kick ass female character. At first she's scared but she realizes that she'd do anything to help those she loves. Even if that makes her a rebel!
This was new and fresh. One of the best books I've read this year, in this genre. The story kept me Interested and I wanted to finish. Then I finished and now I want to read more. So now I must wait for #2 in the series!
