Blog Tour & Review: Gamma Rift by Kalli Lanford

Release Date: August 18

Genre: New Adult

Publisher: Entangled Embrace Imprint

His secret (alien) crush...

I may be a Prince, but there are things that trouble me about my father's royal rule-the forced abduction, experimentation, and torture of alien creatures. The king has a new prisoner who's a carefully kept secret...

There's a young female who belongs to alittle-known civilization I have been studying extensively. They are human, belonging to a small, undeveloped planet called Earth. She is pretty in a way I find unusual and compelling. Sometimes I sneak into the adjoining cell and we talk about everything and nothing, even as I find myself yearning to touch her strange, soft skin.

Skin that is being subjected to invasive tests and experiments. A body that's scheduled for a live dissection in fifteen days. And a life that will be terminated unless I risk my future and life to help her escape...

Sara's Review - Three Boundless Stars

I was provided a copy of Gamma Rift for a blog tour via Net Galley. From the start Gamma Rift struck me a bit different from other Alien abduction romances I have read. It has a more serious note and not so tongue and cheek. America (Yep that is our leads name) is on a camping trip with three friends. They are sitting around the campfire when strange noise sounds, lights come on from above and the panic starts. This entire scene was a bit clichéd. The alien ship coming from above while they are out in the woods. Then America tripping and falling in her panicked run. She awakens nude in a cell and has no idea what is going on. Then oh joy the torture "tests" begin. It's basically every abduction horror story brought to life. Then on day on the other side of her cell someone comes and starts talking to her. Garran is the Prince of the alien world that has abducted America. He is enamored with earth culture and has been studying it for years. So he jumps at the chance to talk with a live Earthling. America almost immediately starts falling for Garran just by his voice. I kept thinking Stockholm syndrome much? Here she is be tortured and likely killed and you're gonna have the hots for one of your captives. He isn't personal responsible for what is happening to her, but still. Garran discovers that his father the King is a sadistic bastard who plans on having a vivisection done on America. He has gotten to know America and knows she doesn't deserve that fate. So what does Garran do? Does he defy his father or let the woman he care for die? This book was ok. It was very slow at times and I found myself kinda bored. The ending was a bit predictable.
