Lissa's Review: Translucent by Erin Noelle

Sometimes you reach a point where you just can’t take any more — a breaking point, some call it.

The day I watched my husband murder the woman who was pregnant with his child, my point didn’t just break, it exploded like a full magazine’s worth of hollow points firing through the barrel of a fully-automatic AK-47.

Literally.

I am no longer his American Princess, nor am I his slave. Now, I’m a murderer in hiding. My name was Bryleigh Carter Oliveira, and that was my story.Translucent is one woman's story of breaking free, starting over, and learning to trust again through willful submission.

Five Boundless Stars -

Blake's story is absolutely terrifying. It's heartbreaking that there are people out there who are seriously evil. I was warned before reading, that the material in this book may be hard to read. Even then, I'm glad I had a chance to read it.

Having a man, take you as a possession and kill those around you. Can mentally and emotionally screw you.

"You are my wife, my legal possession. You do what I say or there will be consequences to pay. Do I make myself clear?"

When Madden meets Blake. I had an issue with him, I didn't like him and I almost felt as if I wanted to protect her. He's dominating and claims her. But yet there's a side that is caring and the whole theme of it is.. Do you trust me?

How can you trust, after going through hell and reeling from the pain one person caused. She keeps her previous experiences to herself for good reason and wants to start over. But the haunting memories want to keep her and suffocate her.

"I'm desperate to break through the darkness she cloaks herself in, to shower the light of freedom." - Madden

Madden helps her in so many ways. She is broken but he is able in ways to put her back together. The whole time I had an uneasy feeling. Like something was just around the corner, something terrifying.

It ended abruptly and I need to read the second in the series. Which, it looks like has a release day in Oct! This was really brilliant. It had everything. It was horrifying, loving and nail biting.
