Synopsis
As a professional hit man, Will Collier has more secrets than most. But on a sweltering Texas night, the lives he's taken rank second place to the love he'd like to be making with a sensual Bohemian beauty. Sabrina Walker is intimately familiar with the havoc Cupid can wreak. She's determined that love will never seduce her again, until she meets Will Collier and discovers that some secrets are better when shared. Warning: This book contains a spunky, plus-sized heroine, a sassy Beagle named Scamp, and a sexually frustrated hitman who can't figure out what women want (then again, what man can?). PLEASE NOTE: While Hittin is book 2 in the Marked For Love series, each story stands alone. It’s intended for mature readers, contains adult language and content, but NO cliffhanger.
Review
I was provide a copy of Hittin It in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the Marked For Love series. But, you don't need to read book one to dive into book 2. The stories are separate just some of the same characters. Hittin It is a dual POV story, which I absolutely love! I love to know what both sides are doing and thinking! I also love it when I crack open a book and from practically the first page I'm already laughing. Oh was I laughing! Will, a hitman, is so bad with women we first meet him in a gay bar scoping a target and contemplating turning gay. "And surely a relationship with a man would be...easier. Much easier. There'd be football and beer, tortilla chips and queso dip, belching and ball scratching" "Just then, Will's ass puckered. He hadn't quite worked out the sex issue." I was Dying! My husband didn't find it as funny but, I was laughing to the point of tears! Sabrina comes into the story in a most unusual way. Will comes to her rescue when her van broke down on the side of the road. Sabrina is pretty much a gypsy vagabond and has lived a rough life for quite awhile. Yet she is a beautiful woman that Will is immediately attracted to. Sabrina is smart, resourceful and extremely independent. She is leery of Will to start, yet still attracted to him. Normally for me to fall in love with a book I have to love the heroine. Don't get me wrong I really liked Sabrina but I LOVED Will! He was just such a contradiction.... you have to read it! Things happen and they wind up together in a dangerous situation, hiding out waiting.... Oh that attraction turns to sparks which lights into a flame! Yet at the same time kept things real and funny. I loved it! Hittin is the first book I've read by Amie Stuart. I loved it so much I'm going back to read the first book in this series Nailed. I can't wait!!!
