Get ready for a summer of self-discovery and romance in the first of the New Adult novella series, Adventures Abroad! Lissa's Review - Three Stars

I received a copy of the book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah is an American, trying to escape her life in London. She decided to become an au pair aka nanny. She does this for awhile but something happens. She doesn't want to go home, so she decides to see London.

I could understand her reluctance for going Home. But Sarah is very naive for someone whose traveled to another country alone. Things happen, that I'd be weary about but she doesn't seem to be affected at all.

She meets some girls, who are very nice and a stranger. She thinks she knows him, but does she? I got a weird vibe. My creep-o-guy meter was flashing. I didn't feel like I was totally connected to what was going on.

I think this was a good short read. I just felt like I needed to know more about Sarah. More about the situation. I think this could of been a longer story.

Lissa's Review - Two Stars

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

We meet Camie a girl in College. She's been through a lot. After learning something disheartening, her roommate talks her into a European Vacation. One that she really can't afford, but then again being young, sometimes you don't think. I'm not really a fan of Camie, she really annoyed me throughout the book.

She doesn't explain to her mom what she's doing, so she jets off to Paris by herself. Ever since I saw that movie Hostel, I worry about people going to another country by themselves. She does meet a boy named Hunter, within a few days. She becomes super close to him.

I do like how the books inter-connect with each other. I think he idea behind this was a really cool one. But again I felt no connection either way.

Lissa's Review - Three Stars

This one we finally get to know more about JoJo. Which I thought was really neat. She's gone to Europe because her brother is getting married. Her parents let her explore by herself.

Now, I get that her brother is getting married suddenly. But why would a girl out of high school, not want her brother to get married because his fiancé is going to take him away from the family. Huh?! That's something I could see a child thinking. Her brother is 7 years older. So obviously, he's going to eventually get married and start a family.

JoJo does realize something about herself, that needs to tell. In order to be who she is. She did grow through out this story.

Other than that I thought the different love story, was good. It will be interesting to see all the girls together.

After a summer of fun, Camie, Joelle, and Sarah are ready to reunite in Italy for one last adventure, but heartbreak waits in the shadows of the cobblestone streets. Can Florence cast its spell and turn lost love into a final fling? Catch up with the girls in this final installment of the New Adult series about love, escape, and true friendship.

Lissa's Review - Three Stars

This being the last one in the What Happens In, you get to see all the girls together. It's in the point of view of Camie though. So you miss out on what's going on in JoJo and Sarah's mind.

I think in a way it's a good story about friendship and taking a leap of faith. I'm just a little disappointed we didn't get to see the other girls and what's happening with them. It was a good effort and I liked learning about the different countries.

Again the connection wasn't there for me. I really wanted to love these stories but they were just good. But also on the same level as could of been better. The rating for this is a three but it's more of a 2.5. But since we can't do half's on Stars, I went with the 3.
