Synopsis
"When I met Oliver Perry, I had no clue he was the lead singer for The Heartbreakers. And he had no idea that I was the only girl in the world who hated his music."
Stella will do anything for her sick sister, Cara—even stand in line for an autographed Heartbreakers CD...for four hours. She's totally winning best birthday gift this year. At least she met a cute boy with soft brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes while getting her caffeine fix. Too bad she'll never see him again.
Except, Stella's life has suddenly turned into a cheesy love song. Because Starbucks Boy is Oliver Perry – lead singer for the Heartbreakers. And even after she calls his music crap, Oliver still gives Stella his phone number. And whispers quotes from her favorite Disney movie in her ear. OMG, what is her life?
But how can Stella even think about being with Oliver — dating and laughing and pulling pranks with the band — when her sister could be dying of cancer?
Review by Lissa
I received this free in exchange for an honest review through Netgalley.
I was 2% in and was already teary eyed. Cancer is hard to understand. I have lost some family members to Cancer and I related a lot to what was said in this book. Though fiction, there's so much real in it. Stella is a Triplet. Her sister Cara has Cancer and not sure if she'll make it through. Her and her brother Drew decide to do something awesome for Cara's birthday present. Which sends them on a road trip to Chicago. By some chance she ends up meeting the lead singer of The Heartbreakers, the band that Cara absolutely loves. But she doesn't know it's him. That's where this story really begins. Two people meeting by chance. There's a whirlwind of emotion in this book. I actually love all the characters. I love that the triplets are selfless and care so much about each other. Cara is such an amazing girl, going through so much but she her strength never falters. This story really touched me. I don't know the amount of times I cried, the amount of times I laughed. The times I was so engrossed in the story, nothing else mattered. This book in ways broke my heart and just mended it all together in the end. This story is one of a kind. I think that people will fall in love with it, as much as I have.
Though I received this through Negalley, I pre-ordered it for myself.
