Synopsis

End of Days is the explosive conclusion to Susan Ee’s bestselling Penryn & the End of Days trilogy. After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They’re both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn’s sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.

When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

Review by Lissa

I was so excited for this book. I just started reading the series. So fortunately I didn't have to wait long. I hate waiting. I got sick, so it did take me a bit to get through it. Shingles can do that to you.

Let me just say, I absolutely love this trilogy. I'm sad that there will be no more. I feel like I've grown with these characters and this post apocalyptic world.

Just like the second books, the third book begins where the second left off. What a ride this book is. I find Paige interesting, how somehow she's the key to everything but there's not saying as to why. Though it we know she can in some way control the Locusts. Which is a huge benefit to the cause. People are always so afraid of anything different.

"If you don't let me go, you won't feel quite human anymore. Being human isn't about whether you fit in or look like the rest of us. It's about who you are and what you're willing not to do." - Penryn

Some of the characters I wasn't fond of, won me over. I feel sad for Beliel, he wasn't bad. He was just tortured. Penyrns mom, crazy but still loving and caring for her children. Penryn is such a strong character, I love women/girls who kick ass. She's a hero, but doesn't want to be. She just wants to do right. I think that's why the sword picked her, she knew. Even though she gave her the most ridiculous name.

There's a lot of action and the battle scenes are brilliantly written. I'm glad that Penyrn and Raffe are explored more. I was really satisfied with the ending, though I wish it wasn't the end.

This has to be the best post apocalyptic story I have read with Angels. I'm not sure I can find the right word to describe it. Susan has this amazing writing ability one that keeps you reading from the first page. I loved these characters and this world.

Would love to see this as a movie... Fingers Crossed
