Synopsis

In this sequel to the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what's left of the modern world. When a group of people capture Penryn's sister Paige, thinking she's a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.

Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels' secret plans, where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.

Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can't rejoin the angels, can't take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

Review by Lissa

World After begins right where Afterfall ends. You find Penryn still in a paralyzingly state. She is without Raffe but still has his sword.

This is one series that is not boring. Penryn is reunited with Paige. But doesn't even really know what she is. She is unsure of her but loves Paige. She wants to do anything that she can do to help.

But that seems fruitless. She ends up a prisoner with her mother. Help does find her through, Clara. The women she saved in Afterfall. She sees Penryn as a hero, though she's only doing what right. I love that this is set in San Francisco and the Bay Area. There's a lot of places I have been. Honestly, I didn't even think of the Angels being in a tourist location.

You don't see much of Raffe till much later. But it was worth the wait. Out of all the characters, I really love his sword. Though that sounds odd, the sword has a mind of its own. The sword does give Penyrn a glimpse of him. Things she never knew. Her feelings toward them never fade.

The other Angels are part of this twisted reality.

The ending! Wowww Penyrn does kick a lot of ass. Can't wait to see what happens in, End of Days, coming out May 12th!!
