Synopsis

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with Raffe, an injured enemy angel. Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco, where Penryn will risk everything to rescue her sister and Raffe will put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

Review by Lissa

You meet Penryn, a young girl trying to escape with her mother and sister Paige. Paige is in a wheelchair, so she needs her sister. The world has changed. Its the world after and no signs of before. There are Angels and beings that there is no name for.

Unfortunately, Penryn is separated from them and takes in an Angel. In hope of finding her. That's where it all begins.

The story plays out in California, which I'm from California. So it's easy to picture where they are. This is a well thought out, creative and amazing story. The author builds this world In a really fantastic way.

Penryn, is stronger than I think she realizes. The relationship she has with Raffe, I could only hope is more explored in the second book.

It ended perfectly, looks like I'm now sucked in and have to read the series. Just wow!
