Synopsis:

My name is Larkspur, and I am an Elemental. My people use the power of the earth to sustain life and defy our enemies. I should be at my father's side as a royal princess. But as a half-breed, bastard child, that isn't going to happen. I've been accused of attacking the queen, my wicked stepmother, and my life is suddenly on the line. I have only two options left to me: banishment, or training to become one of the King's Elite Guards, an Ender. Option one will kill me. Option two is meant to break me, but it's the only way to survive. Did I mention I have no power like the rest of the elementals, and my connection to the earth is worth next to nothing? Could things get any worse? Of course they can. Welcome to being an Elemental

Review by Sara:

What a fantastic start to a new fantasy series! I love a strong female lead and we were delivered that in spades with Larkspur.

We meet Larkspur who is treated like a second class citizen because she doesn't have as much "Elemental Power" over the earth. I really felt for her and pretty much didn't understand why she would stick around for the constant abuse she had to put up with. It was horrible!

After being accused of attacking the queen, who by the way wins evil bitch of the year! Larkspur takes the opportunity to become an Ender. One of her father's Elite guards.

This was so awesome here she is weak in power yet going to train as Ender! OMG! Larkspur kicks ass!

Of course things don't end there that evil bitch I mentioned earlier rears her evilness and it's up to Larkspur to save the day!

This story is fast paced and exciting right from the start. I can't wait to see what comes next!
